Patient Information

New Dental Patients

We look forward to seeing new faces in the chair and welcome the opportunity to work with new patients. We pride ourselves on the relationships we build with individuals and families and invite you to call our office and schedule an appointment.

Smiling Family

From your very first visit, our friendly staff will take care to get know you, your dental history, and your health status so we can offer the quality service and specialized treatment that is just right for you.

That means that we begin with a comprehensive oral exam and a detailed discussion about your oral history and health. Dr.'s Van Haren will spend time learning about your dental habits and concerns and reviewing your previous dental experiences. Then he or she will perform a thorough examination of your mouth, teeth, and jaw that includes x-rays and an oral cancer screening. (If you have recent x-rays from a previous dentist, we can help you transfer them to our office.)

Your first visit will finish with education about preventative procedures and recommendations for a customized treatment plan that will ensure good dental health and a smile you feel great about.

Before ending your visit, our dental team will help you to understand the cost of any recommended treatments, explain your insurance benefits, and schedule your next appointment.

Emergencies

When unforeseen emergencies and pain arise, it's important to get care quickly. That's why we make it a priority to deal with dental emergencies as promptly as possible to help resolve any issues and make sure you are comfortable.

If you are experiencing severe pain or discomfort, or have recently had an injury to your mouth or teeth, please contact our office immediately at (616) 361-9290 to schedule an appointment. If our office is closed, call the after-hours emergency number – which will be given on the answering machine – and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Dental emergencies can range from a severe toothache to a chipped tooth or swollen gums. If you are feeling pain in your mouth, are experiencing bleeding, or have damaged a tooth, we recommend you give us a call.
